Red small door in a white building. It resembles the door to Alice's Wonderland. Imagine the scenery inside the door for a moment in front of the handles where coffee beans are scattered. What are you waiting for in the afternoon of a drowsy city? I may meet myself as pure as naive and fearless Alice. He enters the door without hesitation.
Mysterious space where coffee cherries first welcome
Happy Coffee Farm
Daegu is at the center of the coffee shop nationwide. It is no exaggeration to say that the coffee loves of Daegu citizens began with “coffee masters”. The coffee shop opened in 1990, nine years ahead of the first Ewha Womans Starbucks store. The first shop, which opened at the north gate of Kyungpook National University, began roasting when it wasn't even enough to roast coffee itself. Those who spent their school days drinking Americano became high quality coffee lovers and made Daegu a city of coffee.
Daegu became a paradise for local coffee brands, with Da Vinci, Slipless in Seattle (SIS), hands coffee and Espresso. In the meantime, the number of coffee shops has grown to thirty-four places nationwide, and in December last year, the coffee shop Lapinka was opened in Manchon-dong, Suseong-gu.
Lapinca, which means farm in Spanish
La Finca means "farm" in Spanish. In recent years Daegwanryeong has a coffee plantation, but the coffee we drink is almost dependent on income. Nevertheless, he named the farm and dreams of a farm. It is intended to convey the calmness of the farm, the impression of the mountains, and the true nature of coffee. From the name you can feel the truth of coffee.
Beans from coffee farms around the world
Ahn Myung-kyu, founder of the coffee master, calls himself a “coffee hunter”. Delicious coffee comes from fresh, good beans. Where there are good green beans, go to any rough road. They visit the farms of coffee-producing countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Kenya, Brazil, Colombia, and Ethiopia. In particular, it signed an exclusive contract with El Inherto Farm, which won the Guatemala Cup of Excellence for six consecutive years.
24 years since roasting beans and extracting them carefully
Coffee shop Rafinka costs just 1,000 won for espresso and Americano every morning from 8 am to 30 minutes! This coffee is called 'happy coffee'. Happy coffee sales are all used as happy funds. The happy fund becomes a playground for coffee farmers who sell directly with coffee masters, a book, and even a teacher's salary. I want to keep the children there to keep good green beans. Perhaps the taste of coffee begins with the very heart.

Dreaming Coffee Museum
When you step inside a large building with coffee berries, you will be greeted by coffee cherries and green beans. Entering the cafe with the hospitality of exotic coffee cherries and handsome coffee beans, young coffee trees grow dazzling in front of the cool window.
Door decorated with coffee mug and beans
Inside the cafe there is a showcase displaying beans and coffee extraction tools. This showcase is painted in coffee and has a pretty coffee color. The coffee color is as comfortable as the hanok floor.
Feel the fun of shoveling green beans.
In the small space next to the stairs to the second floor, there are old coffee roasting tools and exotic items. I feel as though I'm at a coffee farm across the Pacific Ocean.
Old roasting tools
You can also enjoy the fun of sesame seeding while visiting green coffee mills. Then the table catches my eye. A common landscape with four chairs on a table is long and a long wooden table is rough. But it is too early to sit down.
The walls painted with coffee resemble Hanok floor.
On the wall of the stairs that goes up to the second floor, works made of coffee powder are hung. The second floor is lined with glass boxes like a museum exhibition room. In the box, specialty coffees from Yemen, Jamaica, Colombia and Kenya were displayed. Instructions and pictures of farms will help you understand the characteristics of each country's coffee.
Lovers going upstairs
You can also touch the green beans displayed by hand like jewelry under the lights. The five flavors of coffee, such as acidity, sweetness, and bitterness, are marked like car dashboards, so it's fun to pick a coffee that suits your taste without having to drink it.
The second floor where the world's specialty coffee is displayed
After leaving the main building and passing the garden, the roasting machine, which is the second largest in our country, is constantly roasting and cooling coffee. Freshly roasted coffee fragrance is not envious of honeymoon sesame salt.
Green beans and signs displayed like jewelry
Next to the roasting machine is a storehouse for green beans. In the warehouse, a huge amount of green beans imported from each country are piled in a bag. But unusually, LP plates are displayed among the green beans, and large speakers occupy one place.
The taste and quality of coffee displayed like a car dashboard
There are concerts and film festivals held every two months. It is a unique space that transforms from a warehouse into a small theater. Sitting on a coffee bag and listening to music must be a special experience. In the greenhouse in front of the warehouse, coffee trees sprouted from coffee beans are growing like a dream.
Coffee Sack Stacks
After a coffee trip, she finally settles down at a long table. If you put a piece of cake that goes well with steamed coffee in the specialty exhibition room on the 2nd floor, you will feel like you are in a strange space, not a museum or a cafe. The deep and rich coffee and a pleasant meeting of the museum are fun.

And a cup of communication with me
I asked Ahn Myung-kyu what is coffee in one word? “Coffee is communication.” In high school, when I went to the library as my home, he fell in love with coffee, saying that the conversation he had while drinking a cup of coffee offered by a teacher was warm and fragrant. In order to create a space to communicate with coffee, he opened a coffee house. The coffee master does not mean 'named house'. It uses the word ‘명 (明)’ to express the desire to create a bright space, that is, a space for communication. I just didn't want a coffee shop. I wanted to know the beginning of coffee, taste the coffee culture, and communicate through coffee.
Communication space
Coffee is hard to explain simply by saying 'delicious'. A myriad of diverse flavors such as sour, sweet, fruity, earthy are in harmony. The process of harvesting, roasting, and extracting everything from the natural environment of the mountain determines the taste of the coffee. But above all, it is no exaggeration to say that with whom to drink coffee to complete the taste of coffee.
Lapinca from the Garden
Wouldn't the greatest joy of drinking coffee be in conversation with coffee rather than the aroma and flavor of coffee? Most important of all is a cup of coffee to share with myself. Billy Joel said, "There is comfort in my coffee cup." What's in your cup of coffee today?
A cup of communication with myself
