Happy forest path for the whole family to walk together

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, Korea

Uiyeong-gil in Bukhansan is a good way for the whole family to walk together. It is a mountain path, but the road is wide so you can walk with your shoulders. There are no steep or steep sections, so children walk well. In the autumn and solstice, the scent of the forest scents, and when you walk on Uyi-Ring, laughter blooms in your family's face.

1.8 km from Uyi-dong to Ui Tam Prevention Center

Wuyiling Road is 6.8km in total. Among them, about 4.5km from Bui Mountain National Park Ui Tam Prevention Center to Gyohyeon Tam Prevention Center in earnest. Get off at the entrance of Doseonsa Temple and walk about 1.8km from Ui-dong Food Village to Ui-dong Food Service Center.

'Ui-dong Food Village' signboard at Ui-dong, Ui-yeong-gil
The area around the signboard of Ui-dong Food Village is untidy. Follow the road through the signboard, and there are many restaurants on both sides of the road. It's not a good place to walk. Especially on weekends, there are many cars that people who use restaurants can ride. This section is about 1.3 km long. Also, this section is an uphill road, so some people struggle from the beginning before walking in earnest.

However, if you take this inconvenience and walk up 1.3km, the road that the vehicle cannot enter is started. If you go up this road about 500m, you will come to Bukhansan National Park Ui Tam Prevention Center. It is about 1.5km from here to Uyi-Ryeong Trail, which is easier than the road that has been walked up until now.

Uyiyeong-gil is named after the rock “Uiam” which resembles the ear of a cow. But Wuaiam is not visible in Wuyiling Road. Wooiam is on the Wuyi ridge which leads to the main peak of Dobongsan Mountain.
Ui-Ryeong-gil is a path between the listed ridge line and Songchu Nam-nam line, connecting Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do and Ui-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. It was a shortcut between Seoul and northern Gyeonggi. In the past, the wagon was a narrow road, and during the Korean War, the US Army Corps of Engineers paved the way for military operations. There is a monument to the opening of the operation road on the hillside of Uyiling.
A small sign for walking barefoot
On January 21, 1968, following the so-called January 21 incident, when North Korean armed forces invaded the Blue House, military forces and combat police were stationed in 1969 to control civilian access. Since 2009, civilians have been allowed to enter the city, but only 1,000 people per day should be restricted and reservations must be made.
People walking barefoot on the road
Departure from Uytam Prevention Center starts full-scale forest road. The road is made of Masato made from weathered granite. On the side of the road, you can see a short sign called ‘Uyi-Ring Forest that feels barefoot.’ But as I walked this road, I saw only one or two people walking barefoot. Because it is not a soft soil like ocher but rough soil, people who are not used to walking barefoot or have weak skin on their feet can wear shoes again even if they walk barefoot.
Beetle anesthetic flowers bloom on the side of the road
Light purple hummingbird flowers bloom on the wide dirt road in the forest. Yellow flowers that you may not know are visible everywhere. Green forests surround the road. Children unfamiliar with the forest trails are initially hardened by the humming bees and beetles, but adapt quickly. The slope runs up a gentle uphill and then comes back.
Wuyiling Road can walk with its shoulders
Arrived at the Hui-Ring Trough. It is 1.5km from Wuyi Tam Prevention Center. The hillside remains an anti-tank obstacle, a military facility that drops a lump of concrete on the pedestal to the road to prevent enemy tanks from entering. From this place, it is going downhill to the Gyohyeon RDA. As you pass the antitank obstacles, you will see an observation deck overlooking Obong. One of the most beautiful landscapes you can see from Ouiyeong-gil is Obong.
Family steps walking lightly
Obon refers to five rocky peaks. Five bachelors who lived in a village competed to throw the rock of the listed ridge (the ridge facing Obong) into Obong to marry his beautiful daughter.
Milestones of Uyi-Ring Trough
The children also admired the landscape, “Wow look over there!” Points to the five rock peaks. From Obon Observation Deck, crouch down with water and walk down the road again.

Children look more energetic than when they come up. Running through a wide dirt road, you can see the valley water flowing along the side of the road and look up to the blue sky. The children, who are in love with computers and smartphones, make a blue smile that resembles a forest in the fresh nature. The faces of parents who see such children are also bright.

I walked to the Gyohyeon RDA. Ui-yeong-gil, the whole family walked together, laughter bloomed on the forest road.

Sansa, Seokguram, hiding in Uiyeong-gil
If you go down about 1km toward the Gyohyeon Rural Guard Center from Uiyeong Trail, you will see a large vacant lot. From there, the path to the cave begins.
Road to Gyohyeon Detection Center
It is about 700 ~ 800m from the large glade to the cave. After looking around Seokguram Rock, come back and go down to Gyohyeon Rural Prevention Center.
Seokguram Rock Order
Seokgulam was founded as a costume ambassador of the Silla period, and it is said that Seolam Gwanik ambassador was heavy during the Joseon Sejong period. Although it was bombed during the Korean War, it faced a mortality crisis, but from 1954, it has been developing new features of Seokguram Grotto, including expanding the cave and building the Daeungjeon.
Grottoes
The temple is small and catches a glance. One of the most fascinating is Nahanjeon, which was built in a natural rock cave. Next to Nahanjeon, there is a staircase going up the Samsung angle. Stand up in front of Samsung Pavilion and look at the scenery in the distance. It is pleasant to see the scenery that does not obscure the view.
