Do you know the beautiful stream, Mittan? - Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea

Highland cabbage field near Pyuchang Fox Hill

Do you know the beautiful stream, Mittan?

Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea

The road leading to Pyeongchang through Hoengseong. It is a green wave in every cabbage field that meets as you pass through Moonjae and Yeowoojae. The surrounding fields are high above 600m above sea level, so there are many highland cabbage fields, but it is worth seeing that the cabbages that will be sown in the spring and shipped in the summer are growing.

Pyeongchang-eup is located in Pyeongchang-gun, but it has a small feeling without being crowded. A rock park is located along the Pyeongchang River, which flows between Eupnae and Jangam Mountain. Boulders provided by nearby residents, such as seals, penguins, fresh rocks, Geumsugangsan, and turtle rocks, each boast a unique appearance.
Spring cabbage is sown in spring and shipped in summer.
Dark shadows pass by me as I watch the rock park. As I looked up at the sky because I wanted something, I noticed that Dong Ho-in, who enjoys paragliding, was flying in the wind.

The paragliding active factory is visible on the mountaintop above it. It is an active factory in Jangamsan.
Mt. Geumsugang Rock with its strange beauty
As he climbed the wheel of Janamsan Mountain after going through the wheels of a motorcycle that had passed through Noron-ri, a paraglider just blows off the ground and blows up the wind. The person who seems to be an onlooker speaks when he presses the stretching shutter.
Paragliding fellows gathered at the active factory in Jangamsan
“Is n’t it nice? You must have come to take a picture? ”
"Yeah."
“But there's a nicer place over there in Mittan than here. Six hundred horsemen. ”
“I went there last fall and it was great.”
"Ok? So have you been to Komaru? ”
“Komaru?”

After talking, it reminds me that six hundred horsemen are nearby. Why didn't you think about it when you saw the cabbages full of cabbages that you just passed by? Komaru again wants to wake up somewhere. At this point, I can't go.
A paraglider flying like a bird is cool
We stop at the Mitan-myeon office, pull out a map of Mitan-myeon and a pamphlet for the publicity, and head to Cheongok-san Mountain Pass. In fact, six hundred horsemen have already found it. The memory of admiring the wave of six hundred horsemen and cabbage dumplings surrounded by clouds on the hilly slopes of the previous year is new.

Starting from the location of Mitan-myeon, you can climb in both directions from Pyeongan-ri and Hoedong-ri. Either way, you come back to the origin. Last time I climbed from Pyeongan-ri, so I'm going to climb from Hoedong-ri this time.
Cheongoksan Dokkaebigil Information Board
When you arrive at the entrance of Hoedong-ri, there is a signboard that informs you of an oak tree over 300 years old and the road to Cheongoksan.

Cheongoksan Dokkaebi-gil from Hoedong-ri is paved with asphalt, making it easy to run. While climbing the fresh greenery, you can see a rock that has been gathered along the road. It seems to be a general rock. Sooner or later, when you climb up the hill, you will encounter a road going down towards Pyeongan-ri and a forked road at the entrance of the Six hundred Margins. There are many unpaved and thick stones, but it is not too difficult to pass.

If you enter the unpaved road about 500m, the front of your eyes closes and a field of six hundred horses appears.

It was a place where local residents came in when they were bored and picked up all kinds of wild herbs to make a hukou. It is a place where wild herbs such as gondre, beetle, and jadeite are Jicheon.

Then, the name Cheongoksan was also named after the wild herbs. There is this passage in the lyrics of <Pyeongchang Arari> that comes to Mitan.
When you climb the heliport, six hundred horsemen can see at a glance.
“If the gondle on the back of the mountain looks like a random taste / it will live in the spring even in the same famine.”
Wild vegetables have been common in the area of six hundred horsemen
It is said that it was over 50 years ago that Hwajeon people began to settle in the mountains where wild herbs were in the stream.

Today, the rough land is cleared and the cultivated area is gradually increased.

One maggi is a land where seeds can be sown. It is about 990m2, but it is about 300 pyeong in the old-fashioned way. So, six hundred marge is a vast field of 595,000 square meters (about 180,000 pyeong).

How much blood did you sweat to clear this large land at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level?
The way to descend from Pyeongan-ri to the six hundred horsemen
Contrary to what was expected, young cabbage seedlings in the red furrows are a pity for the six hundred horsemen who have just started planting cabbage. The cabbage in the lower neighborhood is already large enough to be sold, but it is so high here that the seedling transplant is late.
There are many trout farms around Pyeongchang.
Anaks can be seen resting on the field for a moment and enjoying the newcomer. All of them came to work in Hoedong-ri under the hill.

Chinese cabbage is sown twice in spring and autumn, and it is said that autumn cabbage is grown much more. In the fall, there is a great demand for kimchi cabbage, so it is worth it.

When I turned around on Hassan-gil on the side of Pyeongan-ri, a white stone statue overlooking the world over a steep cliff. Those who admired Cheongoksan with the Samsung gods gathered the Dangun statue there.
Hantan-ri Gomaru is also known as Mittan Karst.
Again, go past Mitan-myeon and find Hantan-ri. Located on the southernmost tip of Mt. Mitan-myeon, Hantan-ri Komaru is nicknamed 'Mittan Karst'. Karst is a land that has been raised by land under the sea in the past. It is a good place to drain water in the limestone area, so only farming is possible. So, even though it is deep in the mountains, there is not much water in the valley.
Komaru, the town of Hwajeon, is located in the Karst Basin.
Hantan-ri is a mountain village with several families gathered together. The road continues through the hills and hills and continues winding. After a few heads, a fairly large basin appears. They have reached Komaru or Mittan Karst.
The common nami, which is common in the Komaru field, shows off its appearance.
It was a place where many people lived together once, where a lot of people were gathered and lived. Grass is growing lushly on the hillside. Signboards with the phrase land bought from the country stand everywhere. It is also known that the Komaru area is an unusual karst terrain and a rare flora and fauna reserve.
Bokbunja is in full bloom next to the hill road going up to Komaru.
Residents who have not yet left are seen cultivating potatoes, corn, and field crops. There are also abandoned houses in the middle of the grass. If the remaining residents are introduced, the Komaru area will return to its original form.

After descending the mountain, head down the river to the Donggang River. Mahari, located at the end of Mitan-myeon, borders Yeongwol along the Donggang River.
Rock tunnel from Gihwa-ri to Mahari
In the Andor (rock) of the Mahari River there is a sad story of a raft and his wife. The story of the days when the trees were rafted from the mountainous valley in Gangwon-do, rafted, and then sent to the river to be transported to Seoul has become a legend. At that time, what took about a month from Boreum by waterway has now turned into a place to go in one day.
A story about a couple of rafts is told in Andol along the river.
If you go further along the river, it's a white dragon cave, but the sun is leaning on Seosan, so the rest of Mittan's flesh will come over again.
