Gwacheon is the best family travel destination in Korea. Seoul Grand Park, the second largest national science museum in Asia, Let's Run Park is a fun weekend excursion, and a large-scale kids experience center, Giraffe Nara, is also gathered. Let's go to Gwacheon, a place that can be easily accessed by public transportation and is relatively inexpensive to enjoy with children.
Seoul Grand Park to interact with nature and make friends with animals
When you enter the Seoul Grand Park, you are excited about the spacious nature and relaxed gestures of the animals. The site area is about 9,157 km² (about 2.77 million pyeong), making it difficult to measure the scale at once. If you are away from the complex city center and blend natural greenery, you can spend a lot of time with children, from animals and plants to camping in the woods and visiting the Museum of Modern Art. However, the large size makes it easy for children to get tired quickly. In order not to overdo it, it is good to plan and move effectively.
Road to Skylift
Let's use Sky Lift, which gives a panoramic view of Seoul Grand Park. Walk about 5 minutes to the right of the ticket counter of the Grand Park and take the lift (about 13 minutes) to Line 1 towards the main entrance of the zoo. A cool breeze is coming when I try to cross the reservoir in the park. If you have a stroller, don't worry. Safety personnel put it on the front seat lift.
Skylift Unit 1 Boarding Locations and Ticket Offices
When taking the lift, it is better to use both sections until the lift of Line 2 (approximately 17 minutes) leading to the Tiger Farm, which is at the northern end of the Seoul Zoo. The total length is 1,710m, which takes about 30-40 minutes. It is efficient to come down from the top and watch the trail where the desired animals are.
Seoul Grand Park Theme Garden Rose Garden
Seoul Zoo unfolds animal stories from around the world. The zoo, where all kinds of animals from all over the world are gathered, lives in about 2,500 species of about 262 species, including the world's rarest species, the Roland Gorilla.
Siberian Tiger Tailbone in Raptor Temple
From popular animals such as lions, giraffes, and elephants from Africa, to herbivores from the grasslands and from birds flying from each continent.
Seoul Zoo Elephant
Children are particularly curious about elephants and giraffes.
Giraffe ecology briefing session
At the time of the zookeeper's ecological briefing, you can learn more about the ecology of animals you haven't known.
Feeding the zookeeper during the briefing session
The theme garden is located opposite the main entrance of the zoo.
Children's zoo in the theme garden
Let's see the children's zoo in the theme garden first. It is fun to have a fence tailored to children's eye level, feeding experience, and baby animals.
Feeding Experience (Children's Zoo)
At the children's zoo, marmosets, cotton-headed tamarins, meerkats, hedgehogs, and rabbits live. Roses are in full bloom in the Rose Garden in the theme garden every June.
Rose garden landscape
Around 30,000 roses of 400 species form a spectacular view around the lake of the Grand Park.

Giraffe country, special experience from fitness training to emotional development

'Giraffe Country', located next to the Sky Lift in Seoul Grand Park, is a large kids experience center. It is not just a place with a lot of toys, but a place where children can experience with their own body, gain experience through various programs, and communicate with parents. Experience play on the 3rd floor is operated on time or every 30 minutes, so it is good to plan the play after checking the operating hours.

Draw in the shadow forest with a highlighter (giraffe country)

The first floor is an experience-oriented space. 'Shadow Forest', after watching a hand shadow performance, learns the properties of light by creating shadows for children themselves. When the lights are turned off, there is no hesitation in drawing with each highlighter. 'Mirror Maze' is an experience of looking at yourself while looking at yourself in the mirror. You may run into a blocked maze and bump into the mirror, so you need to be careful with your guardian to avoid running randomly.

Inside the mirror maze (giraffe country)
'Block Country' is also a good place for children to spend a long time focusing. You can make everything you want to make in a block world filled with all kinds of blocks.
Bull Climbing (Giraffe)
The Ball Pool Climbing Valley is the place where children play most, and both children and parents like it because it is a safe facility for rock climbing, slides, and throwing yourself into the ball pool.
Block country (giraffe country)
'Black Light Nanta Bang' is a space where children and adults can relax together.
Nanta Class (Black Light Nanta Room-Giraffe Country)
After learning how to catch drumsticks, tapping on the drums to meet various nursery rhymes, you'll be immersed in the show as if you were the main character in the performance.
Nanta Class (Black Light Nanta Room-Giraffe Country)
The second floor of the Kirin Country is reminiscent of a large kids cafe.
The infant and toddler zone on the 2nd floor (Giraffe country)
There are amusement facilities such as jungle gym, obstacle experience, rotating kitty, merry-go-round, swing, and infant zone for infants under 36 months.
Traffic Experience Center (Kirin Nara)
The third floor is the Kirin Gymnasium of the Kirin Country. The most popular place is by far the lawn sled. It is a place where you can sled all year round. At the request of the children, if the staff in charge rotates the sled, it can rotate 360 ° and taste the thrilling speed. Operate for 30 minutes every hour on time, so keep the time. You can drive your own car at the traffic experience area, but the children are having fun. There is a restaurant and a cafe on each floor, and there is a seating area, making it ideal for spending more than half a day with a child.
Grass Sledding Ground (Giraffe Country)
National Gwacheon Science Museum where infinite imagination unfolds
The National Gwacheon Science Museum has all the benefits, fun and fruitful facilities. It is Korea's largest and second-largest comprehensive science museum in Asia. You can forget about the hardness of the word 'science'. This is because for the infant and child family, an open outdoor space and a good exhibition hall facility can become a 'children's favorite place'.
National Gwacheon Science Museum
Before going to the permanent exhibition, let's take a look at the outdoor exhibition. You can experience exhibitions in nature that cannot be felt indoors. There are many things to see all over the place, including the dinosaur garden where 7 kinds of life-size dinosaur models are exhibited, the whole observation station, Mirai Railway 999, family creative playground, Saiart lounge, and ecological park.
Stegosaurus model in outdoor exhibition hall
At the playground of the Science Museum, children learn science without their knowledge. It is to become acquainted with science through experience and experience rather than learning a grand science theory.
Ecological park
Among the outdoor exhibition halls, the insect ecology hall is definitely popular. It can stimulate the curiosity of children by seeing and touching various insects. There are 48 themes on display, including terrestrial insects, aquatic insects, butterflies, spiders, larval breeding rooms, and insect specimen rooms.
Insect Ecology Hall (Gwacheon Science Museum)
Insects are so numerous that they account for 3/4 of all animals, and they are very diverse, enough to clear up the misconceptions that insects are just gross bugs.
'Long Life Scarab' in the Insect Ecology Center
In the Super Mill Worm experience, there are children who dig through the sandbars and pick up insects with their fingers without fear, while others look scary or frown. The appearance of enjoying varies according to personality and temperament.
Super Mill Worm Experience Center (Insect Ecology Center)
It is a great experience for children who cannot see live insects in the dark city space. The corner where you can listen to the cries of cicada, yeochi, grasshopper, and cricket is also a favorite place for children.
Listening to insect sounds
In the Butterfly Garden, you can meet butterflies all year round. After the caterpillar spends patience, it is possible to follow the butterfly that flutters a fluttering bird, while observing the process of changing into a beautiful butterfly.

Sensation playground, run as soon as you see it ~
Now it is time to enter the indoor permanent exhibition hall. It takes about 4 hours to estimate the entire exhibition hall, such as the basic science museum, natural history museum, traditional science museum, high-tech museum, and future imagination science fiction museum.
Sensory Playground Maze (Child Exploration Experience Center)
A children's exploration experience center is perfect for families who come here with their babies. This is because it is an exhibition hall where only children under the third grade of elementary school can enter. Admission is also limited for the safety of children. The 2nd floor is full of 34 different experiences, such as 'Tilt Room' and 'Sensory Playground'.
Various experiences of the sensory playground
As there are many interesting things to see, there are cases where a child's hand is momentarily missed. Children who cry and stand at the information desk are often found. To prepare for this, there is also a space to create a child-prevention bracelet so that the child's name and guardian's contact information can be used to fill the child's wrist with a bracelet.
Missing bracelet
There is also a children's playroom right next to the experience hall. It is a great place to play safely for children under 36 months old.

Curiosity, a unique experience with horses 'Secret Way Tour'
Let's Run Park (formerly Seoul Horse Racing Park) is a family park and leisure space, perfect for a family weekend outing. In particular, after the facility was renewed last year, it has been reborn as a family culture park where adults can play with their children in the playground.
Let's Run Park Horse Sculpture
In particular, NOL LOUNGE on the first floor is composed of interesting contents so that even those who are new to the word can enjoy it. The Play Zone, where you can experience a state-of-the-art equestrian simulator, is very popular with children.
Amazing entrance
You can also enjoy picnic at Solbat Garden in front of the amazing area. On weekends, it is common to see a family relaxing with a tent or mat under the brush field. However, there are smokers near Luckyville, so it is a good idea to avoid them with children.
Secret Way Tour Bus
If you visited this place with an infant or toddler, we recommend the Pony House where horses live and the 'Secret Way Tour', a horse ecological exploration program. Tours include curiosity of race horses, which are usually restricted, which adds curiosity. Gather at Geumdongcheonma, take the Secretway tour bus, and first arrive at the horse pool. This is where swimming training is done to become a strong and fast horse. Swimming for young horses promotes development and increases muscle flexibility, and for horses, the development of cardiopulmonary function increases endurance. In Maple, you can actually hear the harsh breath of the horse ringing the pool.
Horseshoes
The horseshoe clinic, Jangjeso, shows the process of horseshoe making by real priests. "The horses change their shoes too!" Here you can also experience comparing horseshoe for racing and horseback riding. The racing horse is silver and the horse riding horse is black, so the horseshoe of the racing horse is much lighter. Horses are so large and organs are complex animals, so they cannot go to any hospital, so they go to a horse hospital. Occasionally, you can watch the actual surgical procedure at a horse hospital. Children who chattered like sparrows are also breathtaking here, looking at the treatment of horses.
Horse riding (black) and racing horse (silver) horseshoe
During the Secret Way tour, you can experience feeding directly into the Massa. In a massage station, when a horse passes by, it must be stopped, giving caution to children not to get close to the horse, and safety. When feeding a horse, spread out your palms and put a carrot between your thumb and index finger so that the horse can only eat the food.
Feeding experience
Tours are available on-site at the Let's Run Park website and at the amazing information desk. It is operated from 20 am to 10 am on weekdays, and from 11 am to 16 pm on weekends, and it is operated with 20 people every hour. At Let's Run Park, adults can watch a horse race while children who are tired of playing are asleep. You don't have to buy a bookmaker, and you can feel the excitement just by looking at the horse running.
