Chimney of the incinerator transformed into a book cafe, Pangyo Clean Tower in Seongnam

Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea

What if the waste incinerator is around the house? It is almost certain that residents will walk and oppose retail protests and signatures. The garbage incinerator located in Pangyo, Seongnam is slightly different. The Pangyo Environmental Energy Facility equipped with a sports center for residents, and the Pangyo Water Quality Restoration Center, which is difficult to find out whether it is a sewage treatment plant by underground, are no longer evasion facilities. The Pangyo Clean Tower, where the chimney of the garbage incinerator was reborn as an observatory and book cafe, is rather proud.

Pangyo Clean Tower, located in front of Pangyo Techno Valley. It is called a garbage incinerator, but it has no smell. The small sports center and observatory have a clean first impression, and the wide open park is full of autumn.
Inside a small-scale book cafe
Take the elevator to the book cafe, which is 48m high. With an elevator in between, one is a book cafe and the other is a chat room. A small library is better than a book cafe. They do not sell coffee, etc., and food is not allowed for comfortable reading. Centered on the bookshelf, there are 4 round tables and 2 square tables with multi-tabs. It is a small size with only 41 seats.

Books are available for infants, children, teenagers, and general books, but less than 2,000 books. Although the number of books is small, there are many new and popular books.
We have children's and children's books.

The best pride of the book cafe is the prospect. You can see from all sides and there are not many high-rise buildings nearby, so you can see far. The Gyeongbu Expressway and Pangyo IC can be seen right next to it, and the Hwarang Park opens underneath. Pangyo Techno Valley is the shape surrounding the park, and Pangyo Station and the construction site are visible to the southeast. The west side of the highway and the east side of Pangyo Station are apartment forests.

Have fun reading a book at a window with a good view
Across from the book cafe is a chat room equipped with a vending machine and chairs to rest. You can be cautious in book cafes, but you can take a more comfortable view and take pictures in chat rooms.

What is impressive among the prospects is Pangyo Techno Valley. Neowiz, NCsoft Building, located across from Hwarang Park, seems to be in your hands.

AhnLab, NHN Entertainment, Kakao, Samsung Techwin, Nexon Korea, etc. are nesting behind the building, making it truly a Korean Silicon Valley.

The fall color goes down to the dazzling Hwarang Park. There are not many people walking on weekdays or weekends. The place where people are, however, is Pangyo Ecological Learning Center located on one side of the park.

Most of the exhibits were of experiential type. Pressing a button, taking a quiz, and pedaling to create energy yourself. Various programs are also available for individuals, families and groups. Eco-learning men and elementary school students who perform missions step by step and forest play schools for group kindergarten students are popular.

The heart forest walk for adults, family ecology school and family food are also fun. To participate in the program, visit the Pangyo Ecological Learning Center website ( www.pecedu.net ).
The backyard is full of various experiential exhibits.
Between the Pangyo Clean Tower and Pangyo Ecological Learning Center is the Pangyo Water Quality Restoration Center. Thanks to the fact that the sewage treatment facility is located underground, the building on the ground looks only like a park management office.

The forest of Hwarang Park is colored in autumn. While constructing the Pangyo new city, they gathered existing trees and created a forest here. In addition, an ecological lake was created at the junction of Unjungcheon and Geumtocheon so that animals and plants living in wetlands can be observed.

When you cross the park through the ginkgo tunnel, you will see Pangyo Station, where the Shinbundang Line passes. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from the Book Cafe to Pangyo Station.
