Summer wants to leave everyday. Gangwon-do, famous for its picturesque seascape, offers a unique train trip to Samcheok. The Swiss Mountain Train Incline, a switchback that has now disappeared into history, the mini train, a miniature train scaled down from the world's most famous trains, and one of the nation's fastest rail bikes. Chupark is the main character.

Samcheok High Wonchu Park (hereafter Chuchu Park) is located in the shed is closer to Taebaek than Samcheok. Therefore, to travel to Samcheok, including Chuchu Park must catch the line. This is true even if you stay at Chuchu Park.

If you visit Samcheok during the vacation season, how about adding some time to cool down while looking at the cool East Sea. Let's add Haesindang Park, Madam Hunhwa Park, and Samcheok Sol Beach Aqua World around Chuchu Park.

Chuchu Station welcomes you when you reach Korea's first train theme park or Chuchu Park. Let's take a look at the four trains (incline, rail coaster, mini train and switchback) you can experience here. It also has cozy accommodation, so travelers with children can enjoy it.

The Swiss mountain train Incline train is the first thing that catches your eye. It is the only Swiss-style mountain train in Korea that rebuilds the railway that was demolished in 1963 and climbs up and down an altitude of 200m and over 15 degrees. Steel Railroad is a railway made in 1993 to overcome the altitude difference between Samcheok Symphony and Taebaek Tongli. The 15.6-degree sloping track made of the altitude difference pulled up the train. To put it simply, think of a steep uphill train. People walked around.

The incline train at High Cone Chuchu Park was reconstructed from a section of the railway that was demolished in 1963. 10 minutes up the incline train to reach the Skystation at an altitude of 720 meters. He hears the wind blowing from Baekdudaegan from the observatory and comes back to Chuchu Station. You have to take a shuttle bus to take the rail coaster.

Rail Coaster. It's a common rail bike we go down the hill at 25km per hour. Unlike other rail bikes, the rail coaster runs down the 12 tunnels, so you only need to pedal for the first few minutes and the brakes are good for the rest. Although rattling, it's a relatively comfortable rail bike with legs and mind. In addition to the switchback, reservations must be made for popular trains at High One Chuchu Park.

The following is a miniature train and mini train made by miniature foreign trains. As its name suggests, it's small and mesmerizing.

Slowly run around Chuchu Station for 10-15 minutes at 3km per hour. After you experience the mini train, don't forget to take photos in the photo zone.

Finally switchback train. It is a railroad made of “Galji” in order to operate a train on a sloped mountain range. I went forward, went back and climbed the mountain. It takes about 100 minutes from Chuchu Station to Dogye Station. Switchback trains are also popular and reservations are a must.

There are 4 types of lodgings in Hiwonchu Park where you can experience 4 types of trains. Natureville is a single villa, Cubeville with grass on the roof, Trainville with train, and auto camping ground. Natureville and Cubeville are family units, and Trainville is for two people. The price is quite high, but it can be used at relatively low prices in social, except for the polar season. Food and drinks are sold next to Chuchu Station. During peak season and weekend evenings, there is a barbecue party at Chuchu Station.

Now it's time to feel Samcheok's sea. Let's start from Hunhwa Park, the southernmost part of the Samcheok coast. It is at the end of the executive port which is highly recommended for those who want to eat thick sashimi in Samcheok.

The waterway wife Hunhwa Park, as the name suggests, tells the story of the waterway wife in <Hunhwaga> and the dragon in <Seascape>. The park is reborn with a sultry tale that is so dark that an old man picks flowers on a cliff.

The elevator goes up to the beginning of the park. It is better to avoid the day when it is too bright because you have to walk out of the elevator. The majestic gynecologic dragon sculpture with the backdrop of the sea is magnificent.

Haesindang Park, which is similar to the Hunhwa Park, is also a must-see. It is an interesting place where you can get a glimpse of the idea of phallic worship, which has a legend that appeases the maiden who died in the sea waiting for a bachelor who promised marriage. The penis is located here and there in the sea, and it just laughs because it's not dismal and decadent. Use the sense of adding or subtracting according to the travel companion or the nature of the trip.

If you're traveling by young couples or families who want to be active, marine rail bikes to and from Gungchon Station and Yonghwa Station located in the middle of Samcheok coast are fine. It operates 5 times a day from Gungchon Station (09:00, 10:30, 13:00, 14:30, 16:00) and 10 minutes from Yonghwa Station. The rail bike is a one-way shuttle bus, not a round trip. It operates at night (17:30) during peak season, weekends and holidays.

If you go further north, Samcheok is a newly opened Daemyung Resort last year. The blue-roofed building is located on the waterfront, creating an exotic landscape like Santorini. It also has a state-of-the-art water park and Aqua World. Not far from here, the Chuam Candlestick Rock unfolds behind the deck connecting Samcheok and the East Sea.
