Songak village, which is colored green with cliffs flowing through the valley, greets visitors. The famous Gochang Samin-ri Songak (European Songsong, White Cow Ax) is a grass that cows love and is a grass that has no time to grow. Songak, Samin-ri, Gochang, grew up after eating the moisture in the middle of the forest because it was rooted in a cliff rock wall that cows could not reach. Thanks to the embroidering of the Myeongdang, he became an old man who could not measure his age and was designated as a natural monument in 1991. You can appreciate the beauty of Songak, where the green color stretches lushly across the valley. There is no step, so even wheelchair users can enjoy the beauty of the graceful old trees near the valley.
Road to Gochang Songak
The road leading from Songak to the Seonunsa Temple of the Millennium Review in the Seonunsan Provincial Park is a green tunnel. Beautifully grown trees, such as hornbeam, cherry, and maple trees, covered the sky. To prepare for the heat, I wore a short-sleeved T-shirt and put a lot of sunscreen on it. Even in hot summer, the road is shady and cool. Strollers and wheelchairs are free on the lush green roads without uphill.
Songak, rooted in a cliff
The cool green wind surrounds the body and the sound of the water of Dosolcheon by the road is clearly heard. This is the moment when I want to stay for one day and stay indefinitely. The road wears different clothes depending on the season. It is all green now, but in the fall, the red flower blooms beautifully. The accompanying cultural commentator expressed the indescribable flower bowl with the words 'hundreds of millions of trillions'. In the fall that is overwhelmed by this overwhelming expression, it seems that we will find the red path with flowers blooming again.
From Songak to Seonunsa Temple
The forest becomes even more cozy and calm when you enter the natural trail on the obstacle in Seonunsan Mountain.
Seonuncheon (Dosolcheon)
It gently embraces the traveler on the path of trees that grow up to the side of the deck.
Sununsan barrier-free nature trail
The bench in front of the 250-year-old ipop tree, which grew to a height of 12 meters in the middle of the trail, is thoughtful. A space for a stroller or wheelchair was placed between the two benches, allowing them to sit side by side and enjoy a beautiful mood.
Wheelchair accessible-wide spaced bench in front of ipop tree
Crossing the bridge across Dosolcheon leads to a green tea field grown in Seonunsa Temple.
Green tea leaves grown in Seonunsa
Seonunsa has long been famous for tea cultivation. Seonunsa Temple is said to be a temple where the money was always turning thanks to the line of yangbans to buy cars here even during the Joseon Dynasty, when the policy of Sung Yu-Bak was in full swing.
Seonunsa Temple
Green tea had to clear the head, so I had to boil it to my son who was preparing for the past, and I sent a green tea seed to my daughter. There was a theory that green tea seeds were born in the shape of a male testicle, so that if they were planted in the land of a house, they would give birth to a son and be years old. Hundred small hills are gathered together thanks to the overlap of hundreds of green tea fields under Seonunsan Ohyeongjebong. The scenery is round and round. It feels like a heart.
Seonunsa Temple
It's time to come back and head for Seonunsa Temple. Through the side door next to Iljumun, wheelchairs and strollers can enter the temple through a steep slope without steps. There are many precious things in the Seonunsa Temple, which was founded by the Geomdan Missionary in the 24th year of King Widen of Baekje. Behind the Daeungjeon Hall is a colony of 500-year-old camellia trees designated as natural monuments, and in front of the Daeungjeon Hall is a six-story stone pagoda built during the Goryeo Dynasty, and a mansuru with a crooked shedding column and a thin shedding column. Anecdotes on the Geumdong Jizo Bodhisattva designated as Treasure No. 279 are famous.
Enter Sununsa Temple through Iljumun
All the owners of the Geumdong Jizo Bodhisattva, who were plundered by Japan during the Japanese colonial era, had the same dream. The Jizo Bodhisattva appeared and said, "I must go back to Gochang's Dosol Mountain (an alias for Seonunsan)."
The access road to Jijangbokgung requires help due to Seokseok
Eventually, the last director contacted the Gochang Police Station to return the Geumdong Jizo Bodhisattva, and has since been enshrined at the Jijangbokgung Palace in Seonunsa.
The statue of Geumdong Jizo is enshrined in the room, so unfortunately it is not easy to see it directly when using a wheelchair.
Geumdong Jizo Bodhisattva
Personally, what I think is the most precious in Sunwoonsa is not a treasure, but a natural monument. Consideration is hard to find in other temples. A wheelchair aisle was installed in front of the Gwaneumjeon, where several stone steps were required to climb. Letting anyone see the gentle smile of the Quan Yin Bodhisattva without being alienated, is this a must for the temple?
